French 19th century spirit decanter.
Of square section form, the decanter has some light wear to the gilding. It is 20cm high, (7 7/8"). £ 340.00
Both Clichy and St.Louis made this type of glassware during the second half of the 19th century into the early part of the 20th century. The Tapes, lattacino and cane work are all adapted from the paperweight techniques they used and although sometimes confused with Italian glassware it is of a far superior quality both in the quality of the glass used and the execution of the work.
